I'm embarrassed to say this is my first real charity fund-raising endeavour, so please spare some change to help me meet and exceed my fundraising target! (And hopefully encourage me to participate in more noble causes.)

We will be embarking on an action-packed adventure across the Mendip Hills and Cheddar gorge in North Somerset to raise money towards the Disney Appeal in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity.

Great Ormond Street Hospital is the country's leading centre for treating sick children from all around the world. However, they need to raise over £50 million every year to keep the hospital operational, which is one of the reasons why I am participating with my Disney colleagues in a Gorge to Gorge Challenge in Somerset.

The weekend will consist of 18.5 miles of walking, 25 miles cycling and a 70ft Abseil. I can tell you now that my cycling skills are pretty non-existent, so I’ll be spending the next couple of months trying to break away from the stabilizers. I’m also not great with heights so this will definitely be a challenge for me.

The funds raised for the Disney Appeal will help towards building the new medical centre at the hospital, as well as an interactive play area within it. This area will inspire imagination, creativity and play and offer a welcome distraction from the hospital routine for both the patients and their families.
