Open Door, has supported over 7,000 people who have experienced homelessness and been at risk of sleeping rough. The Charity funds the outreach and counselling services. We also run the Winter Beds Project each year, providing emergency Winter accommodation to ensure nobody needs to sleep rough.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Everyday at school we plan activities which promote challenge and new learning for the children...now it's our turn.  During the Autumn Term you may have heard that all of the adults in school were learning to juggle.  Since we have mastered (!) this we are on to our next challenge...

Without the shelter of a tent the adults at BHIS are spending a night under the stars - on the school field!  We will be collecting cardboard to sleep on, gathering sleeping bags for some warmth and wearing as many layers as possible.

We are all really determined to complete this challenge as a team and help to support the work of Open Door (a local St Albans charity dedicated to supporting homeless adults).

What better way to inspire the children of Bernards Heath Infant School? We aim to share our journey with the whole school community as we work towards completing our goal of sleeping out under the stars to raise at least £500!
