Richmond Park half marathon · 10 November 2019

PXE International strives to provide the most up-to-date information about the disorder and the research being conducted around the world. Since many websites provide faulty or even erroneous information about diseases and treatments, it is important for PXE International to constantly update information regarding PXE as a resource for patients, medical professionals, and researchers.

Story

Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE) is a genetic disorder affecting the skin, eyes, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal systems. There is no cure for the disorder but not-for-profit PXE International works to improve quality of life through advancing research, educating clinicians and supporting individuals affected. Without the support of PXE International, I'd still be in the dark about many aspects of my illness!

So... on 10 November I'll be running a half marathon in Richmond Park, my 'home' park, in aid of PXE International. I've also given up chocolate ahead of the event which is proving to be as big a challenge as the run itself will be!
