Babies in Buscot Runners (BIBR) are the official team of Babies in Buscot Support (BIBS) taking part in the Reading Half Marathon 2015.
BIBS is a registered charity supporting Buscot Ward, the neonatal and special care baby unit at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading. The charity is run solely by volunteers, fundraising to purchase the latest and best equipment available for the unit as well as managing facilities for parents and families with a sick or premature baby on the ward.

We are raising money which will go towards purchasing a new Giraffe Omnibed incubator for Buscot Ward. This lifesaving piece of equipment gives premature and sick babies the best possible chance to fight through their most vulnerable stage of their young lives. We think that all local babies deserve the best opportunity in life and this piece of kit gives them a fighting chance.

Babies in Buscot Runners are a group of parents, relatives and friends of those that have had a sick or premature baby on Buscot Ward. The team is a mixture of abilities from half marathon first timers to experienced runners. Our aim is to raise vital funds to give local babies the best possible start in life.

BIBS is an official charity partner of the Vitality Reading Half Marathon in 2015 and we appreciate any support that people are able to offer to us, any donation, no matter how small goes directly towards helping local sick or premature babies and their families in the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

In 2014 the BIBR team raised an unbelievable £16,000 including gift aid which was used to replace all of the aging hot cots on Buscot Ward, a very important piece of equipment used by babies as they make the transition from an incubator to a normal cot. It would be amazing if, with your help, we could match or even beat the total raised last year.
