My names Biccies. In April 2019 I got a double head knock in a game of rugby that completely changed my life. Not only could I not play the sport I love for a year but my mental health deteriorated  soon after due to a number of reasons such as weight gain and not being able to exercise freely. 

I researched SAMH one day to help me. I read articles on how to improve my mental health and create a positive mindset. From this I started training with the NHS Couch to 5k app. It was tough going however I got through it and managed to knock my 5k time down by over 10 minutes! Not only this I completed 317 km’s walk/run for Movember raising over £285! I’ve also lost over 2 stone and I feel in incredible shape! 

If it wasn’t for this charity I’d be in a dark place right now! Not only do they offer amazing services to people struggling with their mental health they also post advice and help on their social media pages! 

So here’s my next challenge for SAMH... Run a Half Marathon. Some people think I’m crazy and can’t do it, however I’m training hard and I know I have the willpower and belief to get over that finish line!
