On Saturday 18th March I will be taking part in the Men's March for Weston Hospicecare. I will be walking 10 miles from the Grand Pier in Weston, down the prom, through the woods and down to Sand Bay and then back to the Pier. This is my first time doing this, but I won't be alone as my son Jamie will be joining me, in what will be an emotional journey.

Having lost both my parents to Cancer, as well as close friends, those that know me know the journey I've been on. As for Jamie, he was so close to his Nanny Drapes when he was young and he jumped at the chance of wanting to do something to raise the awareness.

The hospice at Weston is an unbelievable place, the team of staff and volunteers from the minute you walk through the front door are simply amazing. They are like angels...our family will never forget it. 

But this walk is also for those that are suffering now, and one of those is my close friend Eve Lauder who has terminal cancer and receiving palliative care. She is the true inspiration for this walk.
