Our names are Steve Taylor and Chris Ridley and we are both teachers at Selston High School in Nottinghamshire.  We are 'very' amateur cyclists and cycle to work most days.

We have just attempted to cycle the full route of the Tour de France in fewer days than the professionals (they do it in 23 including two rest days, we tried 20).  We commenced our challenge on July 23rd after seven months of intense training.

We tried to raise £50,000 jointly for MIND to support people with mental health problems (my Grandmother suffers with dementia) and Daisy Garland, a charity supporting children with epilepsy and their families (Chris's daughter Poppy has epilepsy)

We completed the first 16 stages with no rest days, a total of 1862 miles, covering four countries and three mountain ranges, an average of 115 miles per day.  Unfortunately, we were unable to complete our adventure due to safety concerns for our support team and vehicle in the challenging terrain of the Pyrenees; nonetheless, we are proud to have got that far and raised at least £15,000.  Any further donations to our fantastic charities will be greatly appreciated :)

We were 4 days and 416 miles short of Paris.
