The Parkinson's Appeal is a charity, which was set up by our founder Lyn Rothman to raise funds for a Deep Brain Stimulation Team headed up by the world-renowned Professor Marwan Hariz. It is through kind donations that we are able to continue our research to alleviate the soul destroying symptoms of Parkinson's disease and other neurological and movement disorders.

Story

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.

Most of you will know that running and me have nothing in common. However, inspired by my best friend Jamie who has now gone marathon crazy, Emily and I are going to start on a long and painful road of Marathon running to raise some much needed money for a charity close to my heart.

A few years ago my mother was diagnosed with Parkinson's and although she is battling it in true Cunliffe style, I've long since been sure that there must be a cure for this devastating neurodegenerative disease. Thanks to Lyn Rothman, the founder of The Parkinson's Appeal for Deep Brain Stimulation, there is hope for the future.

They say you can't expect people to give you something without you going through some pain, so I'm willing to go through the pain if you'll donate anything you can to help the Parkinson's Appeal.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me. The Parkinson's Appeal gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please, take the time to think about just how much pain I'll be going through by trying to drag my flabby carcus round the British 10k London Run 2009 for this fantastic cause and donate now.

Thanks for stopping by.
