Bike Hike · 16 July 2011
My name is Mike Williams and this year I have decided to organise my first charity event. The date has been set for Saturday 16th July 2011. The challenge is to cycle from Rhyl Events Arena along the coastal route to the foot of Snowdon, a total of 46 miles. From there we will hike 1086 metres / 3560ft to the summit, which is the highest peak in Wales.
To date we have 21 individuals taking on the challenge, we also have others taking on only the hike up Snowdon. If you feel you would like to join us you are more than welcome, however the closing date to join us is the 1st March 2011. On the day of the challenge we will require help collecting funds on route and at stop points on the journey.
So why are we doing it? St Kentigerns Hospice in St. Asaph founded 15 years ago has cared for more than 5000 patients in that time. In the last 12 months the hospice has seen it’s income drop by a staggering £300,000 whilst the cost for providing care has risen by 10% annually. The Hospice is reliant on donations, and the support of the local community raising vital funds.
Please support us in anyway that you can, spread the word about The St Kentigerns Hospice Bike Hike 2011, the more people who know about, the more money we will raise.
