The Cause:
Brooklands Community Special School is situated in the market town of Skipton close to
the route of our Coast-to-Coast challenge. The school aims to provide high
quality teaching and learning experiences. These will enable the pupils to
develop the knowledge, skills and personal qualities which will prepare them to
lead meaningful and satisfying adult lives, fulfil their potential and promote
their wider inclusion within education and society.
The school has recently had a bike track built to enable the pupils to not only have fun but to enhance their coordination. The school currently hires bikes from an outside source, which means the pupils are limited to using the track once a week. This can cause further problems when the hire company fail to show as happened when I first went take some photos of the pupils in action, hence the pics of an empty track on this page.
The target of £3000 is set so that the school can purchase a Sinner Comfort Tricycle. This will enable all the children, regardless of their ability, to cycle whenever they like.
