Story

Well, we've done it. ALex - 5 hours 21 and Bill 5 hours 19! Yes - the father in law beat his son in law - but there is a possibiity that they crossed the line at the same time together without any knoweldge of it!

Any way - thankyou all so much for your donations, words of support etc. Regardless of times it was one amazing day and we have raised so much for a charity so close to us.

Anyone who has lost a child in pregnancy will understand why causes such as the Miscarriage Association are so valuable - the emmotions certainly played on Alex's mind throughout the race.

Thanks also to our wonderfull families - Mums (Becky Jan and Rachel - that's you), Uncles (Mike in London and Robbie on the record button!), Dads (Phil) Aunties (Becky) , all the friends who text or phoned or helped with logistics, our personal trainers and of course the kids - Bailey, Demi, Kai and baby Max.

Marathon men - signing off, for now!

Mission Impossible - accomplished!.........

Alex and Bill

48 hours and counting

Nervous, never.....! Thanks so much for all your suppory - will try and update the page over the weekend. London, here we come! xxx

One week to go

Bill's had Dehli Belly but is much better and Alex has a house full of illness though all seems OK for next week. We're both perfectly calm and relaxed! Agghhhh!!!

A personal message.

OK - it''s April and one month to go. In 26 days time Alex will complete his second London and Bill his second marathon. We've joked about times, fitness and all else that goes with it! But really it is also a very emmotional time as well. As the days to April the 26th draw closer and the work of the miscarriage association gets more evident of other peoples experiences, our personal reason for running becomes more clear.

Running and training for a marathon is hard, but loosing a baby is one of the hardest things a mother and her family will ever go through. The pain never goes away.

So for each mile of pain we go through on April 26th, our thoughts will be firmly on our memories of what nearly was and to rejoice in what we now have. (our foster family and our baby)

The more we can raise for the Miscarriage Association will make both of our quests so much more valuable.

Thankyou for your support.

Alex and Bill

A proud husband, father and grandfather alike!

Thanks for visiting our fundraising page. We're both running for the miscarriage association as it's a charity close to our family who provide do much support when you need them most.

Last Year we made Dublin in 5 hours 19 with a rather hopeless effort!

This year though the heats on and Alex is intent on getting both times down to 4 hours!! Along with this the loss of a few pounds would be nice too!

So far we have made 12 miles on our long diatnce runs - and they are due to get harder!!

Update 2/3/2009

We're both up to 16 hours and running about 9 to 10 minute miles. Tired but enjoying the training. Money going well off line - so lets pick up the pace on here as well!!

Update 20/3/2009

Well last weekend we ran 18 miles in 3 hours 10 which we were pretty happy with. Only five weeks to go now (aagghh!) Watch this weeks press for articles in the Standard and Worcester news.

Update - 30th March

Yesterday we made 20 miles in 3 hours 40, so who knows we may make a sub 5 marathon! Fingers crossed. The main part of the training is done now so the countdown is well and truly on!
