Story
Thank you for visiting this fundraising page for my India Motorcycle Challenge taking place between 16 - 24 October 2005.
My challenge is to ride a Royal Enfield 500cc Bullet from New Delhi via Armritsar on the India/Pakistan border, Dharamsala on the border with Tibet, Bir, Manali, Rhotang-La (a mountain pass 4000m above sea level close to the Himalayas), Simla, Rishikesh and back to New Delhi. About 1500km at daytime temperatures over 30 degrees C and evening temperatures close to freezing, on a bike with only 22 Bhp, carrying everything I need, and camping into the bargain!
For those of you who don't know me that well - I'm not a great sun lover, I don't have the strongest of stomachs and I hate tents. I'd much rather be staying in an air conditioned hotel, preferably with a golf course attached!! I also like bikes with a bit more power (150 Bhp more to be exact) so this will be a real challenge.
The reason is simple, to support The Thistle Foundation, a local charity who provide fabulous support for disabled people. I want to raise as much money as I can to help them, so please dig deep, and sponsor me.
Donating online through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: The Thistle Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now! Many thanks for your support. Billy billy.doyle@btinternet.com
