Starting on September 6th 2021, at the grand old age of 10.5 years, Billy Evans, along with his 2 porters, Corinne and Phil Evans will embark (excuse the pun) on his first ever multi day hike. Not any old hike he'll have you know, he's going all in with the Snowdonia Slate Trail . Starting and finishing at his home town of Bethesda, Gwynedd, the circular hike will cover 70miles and over 4000m of elevation! It will also involve camping out for 5,6 or even 7 nights, and being a dog of luxury this isn't something he is too keen on, but will endure for a good cause.
Billy has been putting in the training in the mountains close to his home and is feeling very confident, but if things were to go pear shaped he has a get out plan to return him to home comforts whilst his porters complete the challenge!
Although, a lot of the time, he does feel hard done by, he does realise that there are others out there who are even worse off than him, so he is hoping some kind hearted people will donate a little to Helping Paws Worldwide so they can help some of the dogs and cats that don't have loving homes, or even tents!
He's thinking if he completes this challenge he might even enter the 2024 Olympics or he might just sleep for a week!
Thanks for reading. You can follow Billy's adventure and progress on the Helping Paws Facebook page live from 6 September!
