Story
The Benjamin Foundation's Sleep Out events are back for 2021 and due to the financial hardship caused by the pandemic, our support is needed more than ever.
For the third year, a team from Birketts will be taking part in the charity's Norwich Sleep Out at Carrow Road. On 11 November the largest team ever from the Norwich office will be spending one night outside so a young person doesn't have to and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible for this great cause.
This year our team has grown to 25 volunteers, including 22 colleagues and 3 family members, one of whom is 16 year old Eve, a sixth form pupil at Wymondham College.
The Benjamin Foundation is a Norfolk and Suffolk based charity that is committed to ending youth homelessness, tackling the problem locally by providing a home and support to over 100 vulnerable young adults each night. The organisation gives the young people stability, supporting their education, training and careers and also by helping them to develop life skills, such as shopping, cooking and budgeting, ultimately enabling them to forge an independent life.
Whilst Sleep Out clearly does not replicate the real hardship endured by those sleeping rough in our towns and cities, the event raises awareness and much needed funds to help tackle youth homelessness. With your donations, together we can help The Benjamin Foundation to continue supporting young people across Norfolk and Suffolk, by giving them the skills and experience they need to become more independent and finally feel hopeful of a better future.
We are so grateful for your support!
