Tour of Wessex 2018 · 26 May 2018

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

One of our cycling team (Jonathan), has a son who had a liver transplant when he was just one year old. Nathaniel is very proud to be competing in the Transplant Games, let him tell you all about it in this video...

Nathaniel's Story by Eleanor Riley.

Please help us to raise money to support the Birmingham Children's Hospital Transplant Games Team. They are a team of inspirational young transplant recipients of all ages overcoming their medical conditions to compete in sport.

We are cycling The Tour of Wessex, a mammoth 324 very hilly miles, over three days. We are all keen cyclists, but this is a huge physical challenge that we are all 'slightly nervous' about!

Every year the British Transplant Games are held for children and adults who have received organ donations. This enables them to show anything is possible due to the generosity of their donor families. It also enables them to promote the importance of organ donation.

In 2018 the games are being held in the Team's home City of Birmingham and we would like to make it truly memorable for all involved. If you like the idea of us 'suffering-in-the-saddle' please donate towards our cause.

And most importantly, please make sure you are on the Organ Donor Register and that you have discussed your wishes with your family.

Thank you.
