GDA offers practical and emotional support to children and adults living in Gloucestershire, who have been born deaf and are British Sign Lanuage (BSL) users, and those who have become deaf through illness or age.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

2019 sees local deaf charity, GDA, celebrate their 100th anniversary. The charity has been seeking 100 people to take on a challenge as part of their anniversary celebrations and this is my contribution to help them raise much needed funds that will enable them to continue offering life-changing services and support to the thousands of deaf and hard of hearing children, young people and adults living in Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and South Gloucestershire.

I will learn words that I can use in my work and aim to complete the challenge by the end of May. In my past when I was a Speech and Language Therapist it was important to know different ways of communicating with people, which included some sign language. However, that was a long time ago and so I'm starting from scratch again, which is a bit daunting, but I'm looking forward to it.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Thank you,

Bishop Rachel
