Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
January 2013 see's us set of on an epic journey. Starting from Blackpool a 6500 mile journey crossing 8 countries and 2 continents
The first leg of the journey see's the long journey down to gibraltar ready for the short ferry to Morrocco.
Once in Morrocco the challenge really starts, as we get to southern Morrocco the roads start to deteriorate, travelling down into western Sahara the going gets really tough, mauritana, senegal and mali can see 100's miles without a town on broken roads at best, isolated desert climate at worst.
Towards the end of January we hope to be ariving on the outskirts of Timbuktu, (the british embassy reccommend not travelling to Timbuktu itself)
The vehicle we have chosen for this adventure? a 25 year old 3 wheel Reliant Robin bought from ebay for the pricely sum of £150, its old, its knackered and by rights should be going to the scrap yard. At the finnishing point the Robin will be donated to local charity to build the all new EDEN MEDICAL CENTRE in Dinfara, Mali
Thats enough about us what about the charity.
We run the Bond Hotel in Blackpool which specialises in holidays for disabled people, over the years we have had many guests with MS stay over the years, most are now good friends. Throughout the years we have donated to and worked with many charities and will continue to do so. This year we have chosen to do this for the MS Society, we all know how hard life can be for sufferers and there families and maybe one day we can find a cure. Please support us and MS in making this happen.
So please dig deep and donate now. Every penny raised will be donated to the MS Society, the trip and all expenses are being funded personally by Ben Atkinson and his fiance Kaz Burns.
