Story
Hello,
A couple of years ago I lost a family friend to a stroke. His death was sudden and unexpected and his family and friends were left devastated.
I am, therefore completing a running selfie challenge in his memory during this year's Desford Scarecrow Festival to raise money vital funds for the Stroke Association to help it continue providing specialist support and carry out critical research.
On the first day of the three-day festival, I will be running round the entire scarecrow trail, in numerical order, stopping only to pose for a selfie with each one.
In previous years there have been up to 200 straw creations around the village. The run has been up to 21km from end to end in the past and the challenge has taken several hours to complete. I am expecting something similar this year.
From experience, it's not the running that's the hard part - it's the constant stopping and posing for photos! So please do consider donating a pound or two to support me in this year's' challenge and to support this amazing charity.
Anything you are able to donate, however small, would be very gratefully received.
Thank you in anticipation.
