Blazing Saddles · 2 September 2021

The RAF Benevolent Fund is the RAF's leading welfare charity. We have been there for all members of the RAF Family for over 100 years. Last year we assisted more than 70,000 members of the RAF Family. Support us in 2025 and help us reach even more members of the RAF Family.

Story

The Blazing
Saddles is a charity cycling team from Cheshire and London, that compromises of 25 people. They are all ex sports people and a sizeable number of them are huge supporters of RAF Benevolent Fund.

The Blazing Saddles are about funding capital projects, not just raising money for general purpose funds of charities. They ride to leave legacies, for others less fortunate then themselves to benefit from.

The members have very strong ties to Anglesey and this is why they want to help the RAF Community team at RAF Valley to purchase a community engagement and welfare resource for the children and RAF veterans of Anglesey.

Aim

To have a flexible, mobile resource to be used in a wide variety of contexts and

situations promoting RAF Valley its work in the community, RAF Benevolent Fund and its welfare support to the RAF Family and the veterans in North Wales and the support received by and offered to external organisations and groups.

This will enable RAF Valley and the RAF Benevolent Fund help young children and give support to the RAF Veterans in North Wales.

We will be cycling from Newcastle to Edinburgh starting on 2nd September via Jedburgh in 2 days.

Day 1: 100km 1200m of elevation
