Story

A huge thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I started trying to raise £1000 over a year for the British Dyslexia Association through my blog, Dyslexia and Me. However, I decided to extend it for 2016 too. I have since lowered my target as I was really struggling to reach £1000.

Over 2015 I did a variety thing on my blog, https://thedyslexicstudent.wordpress.com, to raise money and awareness. In 2016 I have been raising awareness through chats on Twitter in hope more people will understand both the positives and negatives linked to dyslexia.

In March 2015, I posted a blog every day on a variety of topics. Each Sunday is a blog specifically about a dyslexia related topic. This includes a blog about inspirational women with dyslexia for International Women's Day. https://thedyslexicstudent.wordpress.com/2015/03/08/blogging4charity-international-womens-day-and-dyslexia

As a dyslexic person myself, I wasn't assessed and diagnosed until I was 25. Through my blog I have been trying to raise awareness and discuss topics that perhaps are not always associated with dyslexia including dyslexic women, adult dyslexics and dyslexia in the workplace.

I want to raise as much as I can to help the British Dyslexia Association to continue their fabulous work in supporting and raising awareness for dyslexic people like me.

You can follow the hashtag #blogging4charity on Twitter. You can find Dyslexia and Me on social media too on Twitter @DyslexiaAndMe or on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/DyslexiaAndMe.
