Bluebird Care's Year to remember

Year to remember · 26 March 2021
Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day we find a cure, we will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.
As a team Bluebird Care Stamford & Rutland, Peterborough & Oundle are joining forces to raise awareness of Alzheimer's and Dementia in our communities as well as raise much needed funds for the society.
We are going to make this a Year to remember, our staff, carers and customers will get involved over the coming year in various activities. We are going to be doing some weird and wonderful things so expect to see a lot of us and please give generously.
At Bluebird Care, we know how important it is to provide person centred care and support to all of our customers, particularly those suffering from cognitive impairments such as Alzheimer’s disease. Most people with this progressive condition prefer to remain in their own home for as long as possible, rather than move to residential care or nursing homes. This is what we do best!
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia and affects one in three people over the age of 65 years. It is not an inevitable consequence of aging. It is caused by a physical disease which progressively attacks the brain. The symptoms include:
However, with the right care and support people with Alzheimer’s disease can continue to live well in their own homes, avoiding the need for residential care or nursing homes.
Bluebird Care offers a range of services to support people with Alzheimer’s so they are able to be as independent as possible and live the lives they choose. We believe in working in partnership with the customer, their family and other care professionals to provide personalised care and support.
A manager from our Bluebird Care office will arrange a visit to create a unique care and support plan with you. As each person is affected differently, the plan will support you to achieve your specific goals and aspirations. Our fully trained staff develop a relationship with you so they can better understand what is important about the way you wish to live your life. We find out about how you like to communicate so that we can keep you in control of your care and support as much as possible.
We always seek to understand each customer’s behaviour and support them to feel good about themselves.
