Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
On 11 July the three of us, dressed as The Blues Brothers and driving an X Type Jaguar kitted out as 'The Bluesmobile', will set off from the pit lane of the former F1 street circuit in Reims, France as part of the Rex to Nice annual rally.
First stop is Interlaken, taking in the steepest pass in Switzerland. Next it’s on to Bormio, Italy via nine mountain passes, including the awesome Stelvio pass. It’s then on to Val d’Isere with a visit to the dam featured in Goldeneye, then driving along Little St Bernard Pass, made famous in The Italian Job, before making our way along a stunning mountain pass through Monaco to the finish in Nice four days later.
Our Rusty Wreck has now had a complete makeover to become ‘The Bluesmobile’, as made famous in the 1980 film, complete with fully working police siren!
Simon lost his dad (my father in law) to Prostate cancer back in 2000 and, over the last few years, has been having treatment for the disease himself. Fortunately, due to his family history and regular screening, this was picked up before it became an issue and his prognosis is very good. Treatment has progressed massively since 2000 and it brings home how important Prostate Cancer UK, is which is why we want to support it and raise as much money as we can by doing this rally.
