Sepsis accounts for 48,000 deaths annually in the UK, that’s more than breast, bowel and prostate cancer put together. Sepsis is what happens when our immune system overreacts to an infection. Symptoms initially present as flu like but can rapidly deteriorate into a life threatening condition.

Story

On Friday 13th September 2024, World Sepsis Day, the team at Busy Bees Solihull Blythe we will be raising money for Sepsis. As some of you are aware on 11th January 2023 Rory, a very bright and loving little boy, lost his battle to Sepsis shortly before his second birthday.

This Friday the team at Solihull Blythe will be wearing red and raising money to support the charity ‘UK Sepsis Trust’ and ask kindly if you are able to donate anything in Rory’s memory.

Rory was an extremely bright and happy little boy who loved his time at nursery and touched the hearts of everyone who was lucky enough to meet him.

Our campaign is 'Red for Rory' and the nursery team will all be wearing Red in his memory throughout the day.
