KCL Three Campus Run · 4 November 2022

Imagine being told that you, or someone you love, is losing their sight. In that moment, two profound questions demand urgent answers: Can this be stopped? How will I live my life? We fund the brilliant minds and bright ideas, putting change in sight for everyone impacted by vision loss.

Story

One in five people will have a serious sight condition in their life time. Sight loss doesn’t care who you are or where you are from; anyone can be affected. We are fundraising for Fight for Sight to help fund ground-breaking research into sight loss. The fight against sight loss is on the cusp of many breakthroughs, but we urgently need the funding to get there.

Researchers from the school of Basic and Medical Biosciences at King's College London, many who work on gene therapies for retinal disorders, will run and walk alongside members of the public to bring more awareness to the diseases, research, and charity.

KCL Three Campus Running route:

The run will start at 1pm in the courtyard at Guy's Campus along the Thames to the Waterloo Campus and across Waterloo Bridge to the Strand Campus before returning along the same route.

There will be volunteers with water and snacks stationed at each campus to talk with.

Accessibility: If you are unable to run but would still like to take part, the route is walkable and volunteer researchers will be walking too.

Community building:

This event also aims give members of the southwark community and King's community the chance to have a discussion with researchers who work at Guy's Hospital and have input into what they think may be beneficial to research
