Story
Assalamu - Alaykum Wa - Rahmatullahi Wa - barakatuh,
BMPublications is collecting funds for the Yemen Crisis on behalf of Ummah Welfare Trust.
Yemen is the largest humanitarian crisis in the world, with more than 24 million people – some 80 per cent of the population – in need of humanitarian assistance, including more than 12 million children. Since the conflict escalated in March 2015, the country has become a living hell for the country’s children.
Some statistics:
- One child dies every ten minutes in Yemen
- Nearly 60% of the population are food insecure
- Water sources are contaminated, sanitation
systems are failing and only half the health facilities are fully functional - More than 190 organisations are providing
life-saving assistance to 7 million people each month. - More than 3 million people have been displaced
while millions of innocent civilians are trapped.
We all need to do our part to help our brothers and sisters.
We all hold sustenance that we can relieve to help this worthy cause.
The Quran clearly states the rewards of giving to charity
“Indeed, the men who practice charity and the women who practice charity and [they who] have loaned Allah a goodly loan – it will be multiplied for them, and they will have a noble reward.”
[Al-Quran 57:18]
