Bob's Scotland West to East Coast Trek

Scotland West to East Coast Trek · 11 May 2022
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am endeavouring to complete a solo self-supported walk across Scotland from the West coast to the East coast during May 2022. This will be as part of the annual Great Outdoors Challenge www.tgochallenge.com. By participating in this challenge, I would like to raise funds for Môn Search and Rescue Team - www.m-sar.uk - based on the Isle of Anglesey and the only lowland rescue team in Wales, highlighting the work the team of volunteers does searching for vulnerable people who often go missing in remote locations.
My start date will be Wednesday 11th May and I hope to complete by Wednesday 25th. I will be starting on the West coast on Loch Alsh, and finishing at Aberdeen on the East coast. My route will take me through the remote mountainous Glens of Mullardoch and Affric to Drumnadrochit where a short ferry ride will take me across Loch Ness to Inverfarigaig. The walk then continues through the Monadliath Mountains and Glen Mazeran to reach the Boat of Garten. Heading South into the Cairngorm Mountains crossing Glen Avon will get me to Ballater where the route will continue along the Deeside Way towards the East coast finish at Aberdeen. The route I have planned is approximately 271 km (170 miles) with 7170m (23524 feet) of ascent.
I'll aim to update my progress every few days. Please follow my journey and help me raise funds for Môn Search and Rescue.
