Marathon des Sables 2019 · 5 April 2019 to 15 April 2019 ·
Each year over 12,000 cases of head and neck cancer are detected. Mouth cancer is one of the few diseases that are becoming more widespread.
I have been working at Blueberry Dental Surgery for over 14 years and in that time I have detected 14 cases of cancer. Early detection has helped these patients to make an amazing recovery and go on to enjoy their future well being. I want to raise money for the Mouth Cancer Foundation, for the great work that they have done, so that everyone can benefit from early detection and receive the best treatment available.
On 5th April 2019, I will be taking part in the Marathon Des Sables race. It has been described as The Toughest Footrace on Earth. In just 6 days I will attempt to run/walk/crawl over 250km (156 miles) through the Sahara Desert, self-sufficient, and carrying all food and equipment for the week in my rucksack.
I have been training consistently for some time now, yet this will still be the most demanding and grueling thing I will have done in my life. I am looking forward to embarking on this life-changing epic adventure.
Wish me lots of luck!
