In memory of Bob Burkill
The Bob Burkill Fellowship Bursary Fund
Bob Burkill – Honorary OV and Member of Staff 1969 -1997
In the past as many as 50% of King’s pupils were supported by the Government administered Direct Grant or Assisted Places schemes. These schemes no longer exist and the school has limited resources to support bursaries. The King’s School Development Trust is putting every effort into helping the school increase the number of bursaries it can offer by encouraging OVs to support the Fellowship Bursaries initiative. Bob Burkill considered it of great importance that talented individuals from all backgrounds, especially those less privileged, were able to access the very best education. A regular donation of £25 per month plus Gift Aid spread over seven years will contribute over £2500 to the Bob Burkill Fellowship Bursary Fund and it will enable bright boys and girls to attend King’s irrespective of their financial circumstances and to this end, we have created the Bob Burkill Fellowship Bursary Fund. The value of the bursary will depend on the number of people donating so if we work as a team, the more of us that get together the more we can share the cost and everyone can contribute at a level they feel able to afford. Under the Gift Aid Scheme, the value of your donation can increase by almost one third if you are a tax payer. Bob was an inspirational figure who's pupils mattered dearly to him and he would be honoured to have such a fund available to those who need it. The King’s School Development Trust and Bob’s family would like to thank everybody for their valuable contribution to the fund.Thank you for taking the time to visit the Bob Burkill Fellowship Bursary Fund donation page.
