BILLY HETHERTON AND BOBBY GALLOWAY ATTEMPT TO CYCLE LANDS END TO JOHN O'GROATS FROM THE 22ND OF APRIL TO 30TH OF APRIL 2011.
For many years I have had a great desire to cycle the length of Britain.I am attempting to achieve my goal of cycling approximately 965 miles between 22 April 2011 and 30 April 2011.During last summer my wife was Clair was extremely ill with an undiagnosed illness.Eventually after much searching she diagnosed herself of probably having pernicious anaemia. The Penicious Anaemia Society in Bridgend Wales were unbelievably supportive.Led by Martin Hooper, his team offered great help on where to access the best possible treatment.I personally had the pleasure of meeting Martin Nov 2010. Hi enthusiasm and dedication is infectious. As a thank you to him and his colleagues I would love to raise as much as possible to enable him to carry out his goal of informing people about Pernicious Anaemia. At present he is in the final process of editing a documentry for channel 4 highlighting the costant misdiagnosis of PA ,and a new clinical diagnosis test available. He has done this all on an incredibly small budget.
PLEASE GIVE AS GENEROUSLY AS POSSIBLE AS I KNOW THAT EVERY PENNY DONATED WOULD BE USED TO MAXIMUM EFFECT.
More and more I am aware of peoples misdiagnosis. To help eleviate this the Pernicious Anaemia Society--THE ONLY ONE IN THE WORLD----was set up in Wales.
Our cycle will take us up through the west coast of Cornwall and into Devon. We plan to enjoy the beautiful coastline, visiting places such as St Ives, Perranporth and Padstow. Day two in Devon will be followed with a cycle from Tiverton to Wales over the Severn bridge. Day four will be a long 120miles through Wales stopping in the picturesque towns of Hereford and Ludlow. The next couple of days will take us towards Lancaster the Lake District and then entering Scotland at Gretna. From there we will be heading straight up through Scotland towards Perth and stopping at Drumochter Pass. The final two days we will travel via Inverness, Lairg before travelling 50miles along the North coast of Scotland to John O'Groats where I'm sure someone will be waiting with a nice cold beer. Billy and I will both deserve it.
