Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page and for your donation. On 20th July, together with about 9,000 other amateur cyclists, I rode the route of this year's Stage 20 of the Tour de France. This stage wass 170km long and ended with a 22km climb up the infamous (at least in cycling) Mont Ventoux. It all took me 9 hours but the final 22 km on Ventoux took 3hours of the 9 in 30+ degrees temperature!! The pros did it five days later in about half my time, those guys are amazing!
You can read more about the Etape du Tour and Mont Ventoux at this link from a Times journalist who also rode the ride> His description captures it fully! http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/travel/holiday_type/active/article6724957.ece?token=null&offset=0&page=1
I do this for fun! but I am proud this year to have raised so much money for one of my favourite charities, the Childhood Bereavement Charity; the charity does great work for families and children who have been bereaved. You can read more about the Charity by clicking on the link below. Thanks to everyone who has supported me so far, the amount of money raised has staggered me, everyone has been so generous. Thank You. I know this money will be put to good use....the team at CBC are really dedicated and generally skint. The money raised will allow them to train Healthcare professionals in the issues that bereaved children and familes who lose a child have to deal with.
Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Child Bereavement Charity gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor me now!
