Story
I am fundraising for my local church, Lochgilphead Baptist Church. The church does such amazing work in our local community, with regular children's outreach through Messy Church, Toddler Groups and Summer Holiday clubs, as well as many other events and groups. However the church building is inadequate for the needs of these growing ministries.
The church is now over two years into a Project to replace a deteriorating small flat roofed extension put up in the 1980’s, by a two storey extension with new kitchen, two multi-purpose rooms, a quiet room and better toilet facilities.
The aim is to have a building better suited to meeting our vision of serving the community, as well as the Church Fellowship, in fulfilling the Mission God has given to us in Christ.
Planning Permission was obtained in September 2012 . McLean Architects Ltd of Glasgow are our architects - a firm with a proven track record of designing attractive church buildings.
The overall cost of the Project is just over £400,000, of which we have about £150,000 in hand and a regular annual giving by the Church Fellowship of over £30,000 (including Gift Aid) through activated Promissory Notes.
The church needs to raise approximately £20,000 to cover the funding gap. We plan to have a program of fundraising events throughout 2013, which will be updated on this page. If you can help in any way, however small or large, please donate now! Thank you.
