UPDATE: I made it round in 3h55! What a day!
Over the past few months I’ve trained on the streets of London, the hills of the South Downs and the beaches of Australia. I’ve trained in the sun, the wind, the rain and the snow.
This week has been a tough one though. I was in A&E with kidney stones on Friday and Saturday (incredibly painful, if you were wondering), and I'm still recovering, but I have made the decision to still do the marathon - with doctors’ blessing - because I’ve trained too hard to give up now.
My aim was to finish the 42.2km in under 4 hours. I felt good in my training; fit, strong and mentally ready, but now I will have to take it much easier. So now I'll just try to get round in whatever time.
I’m raising money for Sussex Wildlife Trust. I know that times are tight for all of us, so there is absolutely no pressure, but if you are in a position to spare a few quid, that’d be great.
If not, no worries. If you’re in Brighton/Hove on Sunday then come and give the all runners a cheer x
