Story
Greetings each,
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
Ralph Murwill was a friend fo mine and a work colleague at Flint House Police Rehabilitation Centre. He sadly died on 14 Sept 2008 - he was only 28 years old. The cause of death was determined as Sudden Arrhythmic Death Syndrome (SADS), a disorder of the heart that can lead to the death of apparantly healthy people without any warning. Ralph was one of these. Fit as a "butchers dog" and training for the London Marathon 2009, he had just completed the Robin Hood Half Marathon in Nottingham when he collapsed and could not be resuscitated.
For those of us lucky enough to have known Ralph, will remember him in many different ways but I think we would all be in one accord with how kind, gentle and giving he was. I believe anyone who goes into a profession where help is being given to those less advantaged than themsleves does so from the heart. The very organ that sadly let Ralph down.
He was on the threshold of a physiotherapy career, and on his return from Tanzania he and his lovely girl friend Katie, also a physiotherapist, had just moved into a flat to start and share a life together.
Ralph touched the lives of everyone who knew him and I am appealing to you, despite these difficult financial times, to support this charity and thereby contribute to assisting others who are affected by such a tragedy.
So what am I doing? Well the event I'm asking for sponsorship is "Just Walk" and in memory of Ralph I shall walk 40km on the South Downs Way starting at Goodwood Race Course.
Many thanks
Bob
