Every day at Arrowe Park Neonatal Unit they save the tiniest and sickest of babies.  In the time we were in the NICU we saw many babies strong enough to go home, wishing it was us! After 6 long and extremely hard weeks, Penny was that baby strong enough to come home!  This was only due to the quick intervention and amazing care we received from the whole team at Arrowe.  There are not enough "thank yous" available to give them for what they have given to us....our Penny.  However, we can try to help and this is where our walk comes in!

The space in the unit is small.  Due to the level of the NICU (level 3) they are taking more and more babies. They take babies from further afield too i.e Birmingham, Cumbria, Isle of Man.  They desperately need more space to give the families a more comfortable experience.  The plans will have more space around the incubators for you to hold your baby in a large relaxing chair, storage for their clothes and area for the parents to gather themselves and grab that much needed cup of tea, as well as much more.  It is an experience you can't describe nor would we want to! Therefore, if we can use the money to help to make it a slightly better situation for the families on the unit then we will climb these mountains!!  All money raised will go directly to the unit....we are over half way on our first fundraising mission to expand the unit and really want to push for the second half to start to the work!

We have an amazing group of people crazy enough to join us on the walk and we are so thankful to them for this!!!
