Santander colleagues across the UK have joined a global football tournament and will compete for the chance to watch the Champions League Final in Madrid, raising vital funds for Alzheimer's Society.

Story

Santander has become an official sponsor of the UEFA Champions League for the next three years.

As part of the sponsorship in 2018/19, Santander have launched the first ever Employee Champions League Cup Tournament. The five-a-side football tournament will bring together colleagues from across the country, with the winning team being flown out to represent Santander UK in the global final taking place at the Groupo Santander Head Office in Madrid.

There are 17 regional tournaments across the UK and our campaign kicks off (and hopefully doesn't end) in Bradford on Saturday 16th March.

The UK Final will be held on Thursday 25th April at the MK Dons Stadium.

As part of this tournament, our team has to raise a target of £800 for our charity partner Alzheimer's Society. To do this, 4 of us (Russell Taylor, Joe Greenwood, Chris Arnold & Ashley McNulty) are doing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks on Friday the 19th April.

We really appreciate any donations and support we receive.

5-a-side Team Sheet (2 subs and 1 manager): John Parkinson, Ashley Mcnulty, Russell Taylor, Joe Greenwood, Chris Arnold, Stephen Kennedy, Mariano Alcuten, Laura Travers.

We will also be holding our own Raffle & Car wash to raise any remaining funds required to reach our £800.00 target.

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.
