Devizes to Westminster & Back

Devizes to Westminster & Back · 30 June 2021
On Wednesday, 30 June 2021 twenty men will be running from Devizes Market Cross to Westminster Bridge and back to Devizes Market Cross. This is a journey of 250 miles, over four
days via the tow path of the Kennet Avon Canal and the River Thames.
The run is a five-mile relay for four teams of five people. We will each run 60 miles over the four days. Think of it like the 4 x 100m Olympic relay but increase the distance, the number of legs, the number of people on each leg and decrease the speed.
We are doing this because in November 2019 we were unfortunate to lose one of our great friends to a rare autoimmune blood disease called Haemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis or HLH. For this reason, we are running in support of Histiocytosis UK.
Histiocytosis UK a charity that is dedicated to promoting and funding scientific research into uncovering not only the causes of all histiocytic diseases, which include HLH, but also ensuring early diagnosis, effective treatment, and a cure. Histiocytosis UK also supports patients and their families as well as raise public and professional awareness of histiocytic disorders. More information about Histiocytosis UK can be found at www.histiouk.org.
