Many charities have been affected by the covid pandemic not least animal charities and their ability to re-home dogs during lockdown. So we are doing this challenge to support one with a local connection and a local volunteer from the walking group, Tracy Flowers.
The RDR is a registered charity who have re-homed a staggering 4693 dogs, many of which arrive via the local councils inc South Ribble and surrounding areas.
Tracy has fostered a staggering 753 dogs to date however, fostering doesn't come without risks as Tracy has kept 8 dogs.
3 of the rescued dogs will be completing the challenge with us.
- Zeus, a Beauceron (French shepherd x German shepherd) who loves to track and do search work .
- Rayder, a Malinois used by the Police to track criminals down but he's too friendly!
- Genie also a lively Malinois.
The charity needs funding and support as sadly more dogs will be looking for homes as people return to work and the dog needs to go... just as they do after Christmas!
Please take a moment to sponsor the team of humans and dogs aiming to raise money for Rochdale Dog Rescue. Every little helps and will keep us motivated as we keep going!
