Story
On Monday 6th September 2021, Boots are proud to be fundraising for this year's Night Walk in aid of the Irish Cancer Society Night Nurses. The Irish Cancer Society Night Nursing Service provides end of life care for cancer patients in their own home, allowing them to pass away surrounded by their loved ones, as well as giving much needed respite for the family caring for them.
Only a few months ago as a family we availed of this amazing service for our mother, nana and wife Louise. It was a service that we vaguely knew about before but when cancer came closer to home we learnt more about this service. With the help of our night nurses as a family we were able to cherish Louise's final moments at home - her last dying wish. The nurses went above and beyond their duty and we will be forever grateful what they did for us.
For the diligent care they gave to Louise we wanted to give back and take part in Boots Night walk and help raise money for a great cause that requires more recognition.
As Louise's family we are going to do Boots 5km Night walk in Macroom on Monday 6th September 2021.
We would appreciate if family and friends please if you can donate to this great cause by hitting the donate button and give what you can in memory of Louise and also for anyone affected by cancer in their lives.
If you are free on the evening your more than welcome to social distance walk together.
Thank you 😊
