Story

Dad was admitted to the Royal Victoria Hospital in January with Coronavirus. After 3 days Dad was sedated and put on  a ventilator, to support his fight against the virus. We were told that the outcome would most likely not to be the one we were all hoping for. Over the next 5 weeks staff supported dad and us throughout this difficult time; explaining what was happening at all hours day or night, answering any questions we had, giving us time to video call dad and towards the end of dads stay setting up meetings with him outside the ward.

As a family we are in awe of how the Nurses and Doctors are dealing with the pandemic nearly 1 year on. Without them Dad would not of come through the virus as well as he has, and we would of all struggled to come to terms with our situation.

Dad came home 5 weeks after being admitted, as a family we cannot thank the staff at the RVI enough for the support the gave us all throughout this time. We would love to support them with this small fundraising effort, by walking Hadrian's wall over the course of 4 days.
