We’re the only charity fighting to end child abuse in the UK and Channel Islands. That’s why we help children who’ve been abused to rebuild their lives, we protect children at risk, and we find the best ways of preventing child abuse from ever happening.

Story

Hello, and welcome to our Boss in a Box fundraising page

The Boss in a Box challenge was undertaken on Wednesday 26th May. Richard Norgate was trapped in a room for 30 minutes and tasked with attempting to raise as much money as possible for the NSPCC within this time. The exercise has proven hugely successful and a massive thank you to all of you that agreed to donate sponsorship.

This exercise forms one of the fundraising plans to sponsor 7 members of the Lloyds Banking Group Retail team who will be entering the UK Challenge 2010. This is a three-day, four-night team challenge in the highlands of Scotland involving a series of challenges from running to cycling, kayaking to problem solving, building to puzzles! It is designed to be an exhausting mental and physical challenge as well as a once in a lifetime team experience. The team consists of James Underdown, Russell Goodrum, Gary Hunt, Rob Underwood, Nick Childs, Steve Windsor and Richard Norgate.

Some Information on the NSPCC

Childline is just one of the NSPCCs biggest activities. It is the UK’s free, confidential helpline for children and young people. Trained volunteers are on hand to provide advice and support, by phone and online, 24 hours a day. Whenever and wherever children need them, they’ll be there.

What do children call about?
Children call Childline about a wide range of problems, but the most common problems are abuse (both sexual and physical), bullying, serious family tensions, worries about friends’ welfare and teenage pregnancy.

How does ChildLine help?
Since it was launched in 1986, Childline has saved children's lives, found refuges for children in danger on the streets, and given hope to thousands of children who believed no one else cared for them. ChildLine has now counselled well over one million children and young people.
