Bostock Singers Lockdown Music Video

Lockdown Music Video · 20 September 2020
Bostock Singers have been on a mission to raise funds for Parkinson's UK. We made a great start in December 2019 with a collection at our Christmas Concert raising £390, followed by Carol Singing in Waitrose, raising a further £180.72.
But then the first lockdown happened, we were unable to meet up to sing and our big celebration concert could not go ahead. We put our heads together and came up with our own ‘lockdown song’. To date, we have raised just under £2000 with our first virtual music video release!
We really wanted to support Parkinson's UK as the disease is something which we have experience of within the choir. The condition impacts on the lives of several of our members.
We already know the benefits of singing. It has a positive effect on our wellbeing, lowering stress levels and improving mood. Physically, it can often feel like a workout too. But the social aspects are also very important, it often feels like you are part of an extended family.
We appreciate how much our members have benefitted from Parkinson's UK, in lots of different ways. Parkinson's UK offer so much information and support both at national and local levels. Research is always ongoing to offer better outcomes to those living with and caring for people with Parkinson's
Bostock Singers are now reaching out to the community in the hope that we can continue to raise funds for Parkinson's UK.
