Story
Sunday, October 10th is World Mental Health Day and YoungMinds' #HelloYellow day is on Friday 8th.
We live in a country where one in every six, 5–16-year-olds have mental health problems.
Where in the last 10 years, there have been triple the number of young people with urgent mental health needs admitted to A&E.
Where a quarter of young women have a diagnosable mental health problem,
and where suicide is the single biggest killer of boys and young men.
These figures don’t yet fully account for the young lives that have been turned upside down by the coronavirus pandemic and there is a tsunami of mental health struggles expected as a result.
But together, we can change this.
This week I want to encourage us to come together and celebrate the little things we can do to look after ourselves and support each other's mental health and raise awareness and money for a fantastic charity called YoungMinds.
YoungMinds Vision is clear: they want to see a world where no young person feels alone with their mental health.
