Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit ourJustGiving page, set up by Anna and Vicky.
On Saturday 7th July 2018, our children Oliver, and Charlie and their best friend Oscar (Vicky's son) will be shaving their heads, in support of their friend Harrison. Harrison is the boyfriend of Oscar's big sister Fifi (Vicky's daughter!).
As a handsome young man of 17, Harrison has recently been diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma, almost unheard of in a person of his age. He faces potential infertility, side effects from the treatment and obviously his future is uncertain. This is understandably a terrifying time for him and his loved ones, but with radical chemotherapy, which he is having at Addenbrookes Hospital, and with the unfailing support of his family, friends and his amazing girlfriend Fifi, we will get him through this.
One of the first things that has happened is that Harrison is starting to lose his hair, and as soon as the boys heard that this would happen, all 3 boys immediately said they would shave their heads in solidarity and to raise awareness of teenage cancer. .
Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer.’ The Teenage Cancer Trust is the only charity dedicated to making this happen.
The Teenage Cancer Trust creates world-class cancer services for young people in the UK, providing life-changing care and support so young people don’t have to face cancer alone.
Please, please if you can donate even a few pounds to support the boys with their head shave, it would mean so much to Harrison and his family, and to so many families with young people facing life changing and life threatening cancer
