Ten survivor elephants in Zimbabwe are in great need. They can't be released to the wild, but the income from the humane and educational interactions that supported them has vanished due to Covid-19. We are appealing for help for this unique herd.

Story

During this very difficult time of Covid-19, most of us are taking a pause, but this is not so for the carers of the ZEWACT elephant herd. They continue with their daily duties as the ten amazing individual elephants, all survivors of previous traumas still need their care and attention. These elephants came into human care as very young elephants and re-wilding is not possible. If they were to be released they would likely come into conflict with people as human care is all they have known, or be killed by poachers. They had been supported by the donations brought by tourists when they come to do the unique elephant awareness educational activity, 'Through the Eyes of an Elephant'. Now, there are no tourists in Victoria Falls due to Covid-19, but the elephants still need to be cared for. We are appealing to help cover the costs of veterinary bills, supplementary feed and staff welfare teaching. Please contribute so ZEWACT can continue its important conservation and welfare work
