We support innovative projects to accelerate African-driven conservation

Story

WHO ARE WE: Wild Entrust was founded as the Botswana Wild Dog Research Project in1989 - evolved to the Botswana Predator Conservation Trust in 2000, and Wild Entrust in 2020 and is now one of the longest running and most published wildlife conservation research projects in Africa. It remains a non profit with a small team, low overheads and a focused mission to conserve Africa’s large carnivores- African wild dog, cheetah, leopard, lion and spotted hyena - and their associated habitats through their three core programs:  WE RESEARCH Botswana Predator ConservationWE PLAY Coaching Conservation and, WE COEXIST Community Coexistence.

By conducting research in the field, educating and empowering
kids to shape a better future, and enabling communities to sustainably manage land surrounding and connecting Southern Africa’s protected area network, Wild Entrust is changing lives. Informed by 30 years of experience, Wild Entrust continues to seek innovative ways to conserve biodiversity and reduce human-wildlife conflict, to inspire greater appreciation of nature in the next generation, and to develop a holistic understanding of how ecosystem health, human wellbeing and livestock management are all connected.

WHY WE NEED YOU: Because WE Are All Connected Wild Entrust Africa’s mission remains at the heart of everything they do - "to support the long-term viability of threatened wildlife populations and their critical habitats." Covid19 is challenging these wildlife populations, but Covid19 has also highlighted, beyond a doubt, that we truly are all connected. Everyone has a role to play in protecting wildlife and wild spaces. Wild Entrust will continue to work on the ground to keep its programs going, but WE rely entirely on donations to achieve their aims. Get connected by supporting the work of Wild Entrust.
