We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We host a helpline for people affected by suicide, as well as vital online resources for anyone who needs them.

Story

I'm running and fundraising at Hackney Half Marathon 2026 in aid of CALM.

I'm Nick, a runner from Hackney (and founder of BrightWear).

I'm a great believer of the power that running has on the mind. It has always been a reason why I run, and has always been a part of the reason I started BrightWear.

Running is one of the few sports where fundraising and charity work is so accessible to everyone, so it only seems right that running brands should be leading the way on this.

As well as donations to this page, I have released a limited edition Hackney 26 race vest available to buy, in which ALL PROFITS WILL GO TO CALM.

As BrightWear grows I hope to be able to do more charities like CALM. This is just the first step.

ABOUT CALM:

We’re Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM), and we’re a suicide prevention charity. We’ve got loads of tools and resources to help people find the support they need, including a life-saving helpline for people who can’t see a way forward, have lost someone to suicide, or are worried about their friends or loved ones.£12.20 is enough to fund one potentially life-saving call.

ABOUT BRIGHTWEAR:

An independent running brand born in Hackney, stared by Nick Wood. Our belief is that we should celebrate all the good that running can do; both for the body and the mind. To shine as a reminder that every run, no matter how far or how fast, is a step forward. It's about more than distance or speed. It's about going somewhere. Be bright. Be proud of what you're doing. And let the world see it.
