Story
On Sunday 20th September, I'll be running the Cheltenham 10K to raise money for Sue Ryder, in memory of my wonderful father-in-law, Gordon.
Earlier this year, we received the devastating news that Gordon had terminal brain cancer. After a very tough and heartbreakingly short battle, he passed away on the 10th August, just 9 weeks after his diagnosis.
He spent the last few weeks of his life at Sue Ryder Leckhampton, where he received incredible care and support. The compassion shown to him, and to all of us as a family during such an unimaginably difficult time meant more than I can put into words.
The team at Sue Ryder treated Gordon with kindness, dignity and comfort when we needed it the most. They supported not only him, but our whole family, helping us through the hardest days we have ever faced.
I'm hoping to raise £300 for Sue Ryder to give something back for the care they gave Gordon and help ensure that other families facing a similar situation can receive the same exceptional care and support.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much to me and our entire family.
Gordon, you were the kindest, most caring man who would have done anything for anyone. The world is certainly a lot less bright without you in it, and I feel so privileged that I got to call you my father-in-law.
I will be thinking of you every step of the way.
Thank you so much for your support
