Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have been looking for something challenging to do to help raise awareness and raise funds for Parkinson’s UK.
The reason I have chosen to do something for Parkinson’s is because it is something very close to my heart, as my husband suffers from this condition. Many people who think about Parkinson’s think of someone shaking or with tremors, whilst this is true there is much more to it, Dyskinesia, mobility problems. Speech problems to name but a few.
Then there is the aspect of slowly over time not being able to do the things you love. In my husband’s case some of these things are his time spent in the desert for pleasure and for work, being a boundary driver for the F1, then his many road trips through various countries with a close group of friends on their motorbikes, and travelling the world. These things are now very happy memories.
At the moment there is no cure, and we know that things will get worse over time, it’s sad and sometimes it breaks my heart, however I am a strong willed person and a fighter, so any little thing I can do to help towards a better life or find a cure for Parkinson’s sufferers I will. Hence the very huge challenge I have taken on!!! I will need you all to be rooting for me and look forward to seeing my husband Stephen, daughter Siân and our Grandchildren at the finish line 👍😊❤️💪🤞🌷
