Story
I’m running a half marathon to raise money for Hospiscare, a charity that provides compassionate care and support to people facing life-limiting illnesses, as well as vital support for their families during the most difficult times. Hospiscare focuses on comfort, dignity, and kindness when it matters most, offering not just medical care but emotional and practical support too 🫶
This run is especially personal. I’m running in loving memory of Simon, and in support of his wife Kelly, my best friend, and all their family. When Simon needed it most, our local Hospiscare was there to make him as comfortable as was possible and to support Kelly and the family through an incredibly tragic and heartbreaking time. The care, compassion, and strength they showed could never be forgotten.
Kelly and I recently completed our first “competition” run together – a10k – and found it unexpectedly uplifting. From that experience, we decided to challenge ourselves further by taking on this half marathon, not only in memory of Simon but also to help raise vital funds so Hospiscare can continue supporting other families when they need it most. Any donation, big or small, truly means the world and will help make a difference. Thank you so much for your support ❤️
