It is no surprise to me that London has a housing and homelessness crisis, and that often our basic need for shelter is hard to come by.

That's why I'm running Hackney Half this year for Hackney Night Shelter, a grassroots organisation where your money will go directly to helping people find routes out of homelessness.

Open 365 days of the year, Hackney Night Shelter provides emergency shelter and hot meals, alongside tailored plans, to help people to move into longer-term accommodation. This Christmas, they helped a teaching assistant who had been recently evicted, and they were essential during the freezing weather in January.
